On the front of this vintage postcard is a copy of the famous Jan Steen painting called: The Dancing Lesson. It features a group of animal lovers teaching a kitten and a Springer Spaniel to dance.
Jan Havickszoon Steen was a Dutch Golden Age painter, one of the leading genre painters of the 17th century. His works are known for their psychological insight, sense of humour and abundance of colour.
This postcard was originally made in the Netherlands circa 1960. On the back is no handwriting. This postcard was never mailed.
Measurements are approximately: 3,5" x 5.5" so this is a standard size postcard. Aside from very few if any signs of surface wear, this postcard is still easy to see and appreciate!
