Hand Made Pine Wall Mounted CD Storage Shelf (Holds 720 CD's)

Description

This offering is for a hand made custom CD storage shelf unit that I made many years ago when I used to do a lot of wood working. It's made from pine. I believe I finished it in a satin wipe on poly finish, no stain. It's darkened slightly over the years and has a very nice patina. It has normal small light scratches you would expect from normal use. The total height is 52-1/2". The total width is 37-3/4". And the depth is 5-1/4". All shelves have been dadoed into the side boards. The shelves were screwed and glued into the side panels. And the wood screw holes have been filled with wood filler and sanded smooth. Each shelf has a 1/2" thick backer strip glued and screwed into the back of the shelf to keep the shelves from sagging and keep the CD cases from hitting the back wall. I have had this shelf about 3/4 full of CD's and it shows no signs of sagging. You can see in the photos how it mounts to the wall with long drywall screws and washers on the top and bottom rails of the unit. This MUST be mounted into studs due to the weight. When mounted about 24" or more from the floor, you really don't see the mounting screws too much. You can see how it is mounted in the photos. This shelf unit will hold about 90 CD's in full size jewel cases for each shelf. For about a total of about 720 CD's. The very top shelf is short, but can be used for a few more, or for what ever you wish.
If you have a massive CD collection, this is a very nice looking shelf you can use to display your CD's. (And it's NOT made of particle board!!)  I will probably kick myself in the rear for selling this, but I am reducing the size of my CD collection, and can use the wall space.
Please measure carefully to see if it will fit in your space. If it can't be wall mounted onto studs, it be can be put on a sturdy table next to a wall, but you will need to use some kind of fasteners in the wall (mollies??) to keep it stable and prevent from toppling over.
